Smart Header/Footer Formats
End-User Administrators can create and edit smart header and smart footer formats.
- To create a format, open a pedigree and click the Settings button. Once open, navigate to the Formats tab of the Pedigree Settings window. Using the dropdown menus, one is able to free type the desired header/footer or select Create Format to create a format which links together data from user-defined fields.

- In the Create Format window, the user can define the format’s folder, name, and which fields’ data will be displayed in the header or footer. As many fields as are needed can be added to be displayed, and the separator, be it comma, space, or semicolon, can be defined.

- To edit a format, follow the same steps but instead select Edit Format from the dropdown menu. From the window that appears, the user can update the format’s folder, name, or fields from which the data is pulled for display.
- End user administrators can also set the formats as default for all pedigrees within a folder. Cloud: Please note, to enable pedigree folder default formats, reach out to Progeny Tech Support to update pedigree folder template options to include smart headers and footers. On-premise: Reach out to your local Progeny administrator.
